Waft to Whiff was the fifth graders first lab activity of the new school year. Students had to predict what was contained in 10 different cup. The items ranged from onion to coffee and perfume to vanilla. A jalapeno grown by last year's fifth graders was also represented. They protected their eyes with the goggles and noses by wafting. Ella explained, "Waft to whiff was fun because we got to wear our safety goggles and have a partner to work with." "Waft to whiff was fun because we got to make a hypothesis, and we had a partner to work to help us out", stated Max. Finally, Clay detected, "The easiest smell of all was my last cup, it contained vinegar."
I hope you enjoy learning how the garden changes throughout the school year.
