We were finally able to get into our garden and plant our spring crop. We planted Champion II, Beefsteak and Celebrity tomatoes of the large variety. We also planted some Sweet 100 cherry tomatoes. Finally, we put in some jalapenos, dill and thyme. The herbs were suppose to go with our potatoes, but we were too late in buying them. All stores were out of planting potatoes. By the way, the onions are looking fantastic.
We are finally were able to get into our garden and harvest the rest of the kale, lettuce and carrots. Everything tasted wonderful. Everyone loved dipping their veggies in ranch and eating them. We feed the chickens the carrot tops and recycled the other non-edible parts in the compost bin. By the way, the onions are about a month old and are looking great.
I hope you enjoy learning how the garden changes throughout the school year.
